Columbia Police investigating fatal Cosmo Park shooting

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia Police continue to investigate after one person is dead from an evening shooting at Cosmopolitan Recreation Area Park.

According to Columbia Police, officers responded to the shooting at 6 p.m. and found victim in the park. Columbia Police aided the victim until medics could arrive but the victim died at the scene.

Officials on scene say numerous shell casings have been found on scene.

The victim has been identified but his name will be released pending notification of next of kin.

There is no suspect information or vehicle information available.
