Boone County Fire Protection District: Tuesday night fire considered suspicious

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County Fire Protection District is reporting the fire on the 700 block of Demaret Drive last night at around 11:15 pm is considered suspicious.

Officials report the incident is being investigated as an arson.

Officials say residents were lucky they discovered the fire as quickly as they did and were able to extinguish the fire before it spread into the individual apartments.

At this time, it is believed that a person or persons intentionally set fire to the common area of a multi-residence structure at that location according to officials.
