Pettis County man arrested after hit and run injures two

SEDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

On Friday afternoon, Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a hit and run involving two pedestrians at the intersection of 32nd and Skyline Drive in Sedalia.

According to the probable cause statement, a witness got a photo of the vehicle and gave it to law enforcement.

During the investigation, the driver was identified as Martez Troy according to court records.

Investigator found Troy at a residence in Sedalia. While speaking to officials, Troy said "he was the driver of the vehilce and fled the scene because he was scared," according to court records.

Trooper Grose said during the investigation he observed Troy's speech to be slurred and eyes were glass and bloodshot while also staggering while walking.

Trooper Grose attempted a field sobriety test but says that Troy couldn't follow simple instructions.

Troy was placed under arrest and taken to the Pettis County Jail.

After being taken to jail, law enforcement found marijuana in Troy's pocket according to court documents.

Troy is charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing physical injury. A $10,000 cash or surety bond was issued.

Troy has a court hearing scheduled for Nov. 3.
