Mizzou football prepares for trip to Florida
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou football team will travel to Florida to play the No. 10 Gators on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
You can watch head coach Eli Drinkwitz's full news conference in the video player below.
Florida is 2-1 this season, but the Gators have not played a game in more than two weeks due to COVID-19 concerns. Florida returned to practice on Monday, and head coach Dan Mullen said he's confident his team will have enough players to play MU on Saturday.
Mizzou is 2-2 on the season following a 20-10 win over Kentucky on Saturday. MU's matchup with Florida will mark the fourth time the Tigers have faced off against a ranked team this season.
Coach Drinkwitz said MU is down to 64 scholarship players this week, but that's not due to COVID-19. It's due to transfers, injuries, etc... Drinkwitz added MU won its game over Kentucky with 66 scholarship players this past Saturday.
Drinkwitz would not give out an injury update on Tuesday, as he's done in the past. He said Florida head coach Dan Mullen did not give one out in his news conference Monday, so he wanted to follow suit.
"I'll let y'all figure that out on Saturday too," Drinkwitz said.
We spoke with several players on Tuesday as well - including defensive lineman Tre Williams. You can watch our full interview with the former Rock Bridge star in the video player below. We also have interviews with Kell Utsey, Devin Nicholson and Micah Wilson as well.
