Tracking snow, rain, and cold temperatures to start Monday
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and chilly with lows in the mid-upper 30s. Breezy with winds from the northwest between 10-20 mph.
TOMORROW: A Weather Alert Day is in effect for the threat of light snow accumulation and moderate road impacts. Snowfall will be most likely west of Highway 63 and north of I-70. Amounts range between 1-2". Temperatures remain in the mid-30s during the day, falling into the 20s at night. Slick spots will be possible into Tuesday morning.
EXTENDED: Precipitation slides south of I-44 on Monday, falling as rain where temperatures stay above freezing. Another surge of moisture brings rain on Tuesday with highs in the low 40s, so there won't be any concern for wintry weather. However, it will be a cold night with lows falling back into the upper 20s to low 30s on Tuesday night. A strong cut off low pressure system will move across the Mississippi River Valley Wednesday into Thursday, potentially pulling even more moisture in from the remnants of Tropical Storm Zeta that is currently in the Carribean. Rain is most likely for Mid-Missouri between Wednesday night and Thursday, with warmer air and dry skies returning for the end of the week into Halloween weekend. Rain amounts for the week will range between 2-4", with the highest amounts south of I-70. We should get back to near 60 by next Saturday, just in time for Halloween.
