New road construction projects begin Oct. 26 and Oct. 28
Brief Route 54 Closure Planned as Part of Interchange Bridge Construction
U.S. Route 54 traffic will be impacted in Lake Ozark as a contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation begins blasting rock to make way for the construction of a new eastbound Route 54 bridge.
In order for crews to safely perform the blasting, all Route 54 traffic near the interchange will be stopped around 2 p.m. for up to ten minutes on Monday, October 26.
This work is part of the future interchange and roundabouts along Route 54, Business 54 and Miller County Route W. Speed limits are reduced through the work zone for the safety of travelers and workers on the road. Motorists in the area are asked to plan for delays, slow down, avoid distractions and watch for crews in work zones.
Bridge Repair Work to Begin Monday in Fulton
Motorists are being asked to watch for lane closures on U.S. Route 54 as repair work begins on a bridge in Fulton that was recently struck and damaged on two occasions earlier this year.
A contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin making girder repairs on the Callaway County Route F bridge over Route 54 on Monday, October 26. Daily individual lane closures will be required on eastbound Route 54 near the bridge. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, November 20.
This bridge was struck by oversized loads twice in 2020. Once in February and again in April. These repairs will restore a damaged beam that was bent several inches out of place by these collisions.
Signs are in place to alert motorists of the lane closures. Motorists are asked to plan extra travel time, slow down, watch for crews and put away distractions in work zones.
Route BB to Close for Culvert Pipe Replacement in Camden County
Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will replace culvert pipes on Camden County Route BB next week.
For the safety of travelers and workers on the road, Route BB will be closed in both directions just south of Nicki Lane from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28.
Message boards will be in place to warn motorists in advance of the closure. Drivers will need to seek an alternate route around the work area. MoDOT appreciates the patience of travelers while this work takes place.
