JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man suspected of a shooting at a Break Time gas station has been arrested in suburban St. Louis, the Jefferson City Police Department said Wednesday.

Hazelwood police told JCPD on Tuesday night that its officers had arrested Xavies Parks, 25. Parks was brought back to Jefferson City and treated for a gunshot wound to his leg suffered during the Break Time shooting, JCPD said.

Police were sent last Wednesday at about 3 a.m. to the shooting inside the gas station on Ellis Boulevard. It's not clear what led to the shooting.

One man was taken from the scene by ambulance for a gunshot wound. He was later transferred to University Hospital in Columbia.

Parks is charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and illegal gun possession. A judge has denied bond, according to online court records.
