Storms likely tomorrow night into Thursday
TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool. Lows in the upper 40s to around 50.
WEDNESDAY: Increasing clouds, late day shower possible. Highs in the low to mid-70s.
EXTENDED: A strong cold front approaches the area on Thursday, bringing a good chance for showers and thunderstorms. The atmosphere will be primed for a few strong storms as temperatures rise into the upper 70s and humidity increases a bit ahead of the front. The threat will be conditional on timing of the front, but areas west of Highway 63 could see between 1-2″ of rain by Friday morning. As the front slides east, temperatures will drop rapidly into the 40s for late Friday afternoon, and it will be chilly for Friday evening football games. Our first frost and potentially hard freeze of the season is possible on Saturday morning, especially for our northern counties north of I-70 where temperatures could fall into the low 30s. By afternoon we warm up into the upper 50s, and Sunday will feature sunshine and 60s.
