Man arrested, charged in connection with McDonald’s robbery

One person was arrested and charged on Monday after they were accused of trying to rob the McDonald’s on Stadium Boulevard last month.

Malik R. Cobb was fired from his job at the McDonald’s on Sept. 27, and an employee said they heard Cobb say he was going to rob the business, according to a probable cause statement.

Cobb and another man allegedly tried to rob the McDonald’s on Sept. 30 and struck an employee with a gun at the fast food store.

The men allegedly entered the store through the back door and asked the employee to get the keys to the safe. When the employee told the men he did not have the keys, one of the suspects hit him on the back of the head with a gun, court documents said.

When one of the employees said they were calling police, Cobb and the other person fled. Cobb was arrested on Friday. Police have not yet identified the other suspect.

Cobb is being held in the Boone County Jail on no bond.
