Sen. Kamala Harris cancels in-person campaign events after 2 staff members test positive
WASHINGTON (KMIZ)
A statement on the campaign website for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden said Sen. Kamala Harris (D - CA) will not attend in-person campaign events through Sunday.
The statement from Biden's campaign manager, Jen O'Malley Dillon, said a member of Harris' flight crew and her communications director tested positive for COVID-19 late Wednesday night.
According to the post, Harris was not in close contact with either person over the two days prior to them testing positive.
The senator will continue to campaign in virtual events and return to in-person campaigning on Monday, the announcement said.
O'Malley Dillon said Harris was with both staff members on Oct. 8. All three were on a flight wearing N95 masks and were further than 6 feet apart, the statement said. The senator has tested negative on two COVID-19 tests since last week.
As of Thursday, neither Harris or Biden have tested positive for COVID-19.
President Trump tested positive for coronavirus recently and went back out on the campaign trail after a short time in quarantine.
On Wednesday, the first lady said Barron Trump tested positive for COVID-19. A CNN report said he was asymptomatic.
