Tracking a big temperature drop Thursday

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds and diminishing winds as a cold front arrives from the north. Temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s overnight.

TOMORROW: Cloudy with a few showers early, becoming mostly sunny and chilly with highs in the upper 50s.

EXTENDED: Winds diminish Thursday night with clear skies overhead, allowing temperatures to fall off into the low to mid-30s. Expect patchy to widespread frost, especially for areas north of I-70. Friday is sunny with a stiff northwest breeze up to 20-25 mph. We keep the breeze heading into Saturday, but as winds shift southwest we'll warm into the upper 60s for highs. Another strong cold front will arrive between Sunday and Monday, bringing cool air to start next week along with a chance for some measurable rain, which we haven't seen much of in awhile. The overall pattern into next week will be a little more active, with temperatures near or just below average.
