Columbia police looking for armed robbers

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police said Tuesday that they're looking for two people who were part of an armed robbery overnight at a car dealership parking lot.

Officers were sent to the Joe Machens Hyundai lot at 1300 Vandiver Drive at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to a news release. A man told officers that three other men approached him with handguns, hit him and demanded his money and valuables, according to the release.

Police with the help of a tracking dog found a juvenile suspect in a wooded area near Diamond Avenue and Garnet Drive, CPD said. Detectives are working to identify the other two robbers, according to the release.

Police detained the juvenile on suspicion of robbery, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
