Tracking another warm afternoon
FRIDAY: Another quiet afternoon expected today. Just about the only difference will be the southwesterly breeze. Those gusts could reach 20-25 mph later today, but highs will still top out in the low 80’s again. A few clouds will slide through later this afternoon, but just look like a brief interruption of sunshine.
TONIGHT: Those winds will back off after sunset but stay out of a southerly direction. So even with mostly clear skies overhead, temperatures will only fall to near 60 for lows.
EXTENDED: Those southwesterly winds will dial up a bit of humidity into the weekend. Otherwise, it’ll be more of the same with highs topping out in the low 80’s. Clouds associated with what’s left of Delta will move into our southeastern half of counties, along a line from Mexico to the Lake toward the afternoon. The only rain chances on the board looks to be Monday as an upper-level trough digs through the Upper Midwest. It’s starting to look like we’re too far south to get in on the storm chances, continuing our dry run. Temperatures may get set back a few degrees Tuesday into Wednesday, but a more significant cooldown may have to wait until the end of the week.
