Patriots vs. Chiefs: postponed due to COVID-19

KANSAS CITY, Mo (KMIZ)

The New England Patriots postponed Sunday's game with the Kansas City Chiefs due to one player testing positive for COVID-19.

The NFL said the matchup will be rescheduled to either Monday or Tuesday night, as the Patriots could not travel on Saturday.

"In consultation with infectious disease experts, both clubs are working closely with the NFL and the NFLPA to evaluate close contacts, perform additional testing and monitor developments," the league said in a press release.

Reports have said the positive tests comes in New England quarterback Cam Newton.

The team has not confirmed which player tested positive.
