Tracking the coldest night since May
THURSDAY: Cooler air has taken back over Mid-Missouri this morning. Temperatures will struggle to warm up this afternoon with a stout northwest breeze, gusting up to 25 mph at times. Highs will top out in the upper 50’s and low 60’s with some clouds moving in this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Those winds will settle down, setting up one of the coolest nights we’ve seen in a while. Lows will bottom out in the upper 30’s so we’ll have to watch out for some patchy frost. It would be easier to develop in the valleys where winds settle down the most.
EXTENDED: After a cold start, we’ll recover into the low 60’s Friday with more sunshine to help matters out. We’re tracking another disturbance for the weekend that looks to bring rain chances into Saturday. Showers will be off and on throughout the day starting in the morning. Rainfall amounts look to be around a quarter of an inch when this system exits east Sunday morning. Clouds will go with it throughout the day, but temperatures will still be stuck in the low 60’s closing out the weekend. We’ll start a gradual warming trend into next week, with a return to the low 70’s possible by Tuesday.
