Jefferson City man sentenced to probation after threatening to shoot up a Walmart

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man accused of threatening to shoot up a Walmart store was sentenced to probation on Tuesday, nearly a year after charges were filed.

Online court records say 39-year-old Nicholas Pratte pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of making a terrorist threat. He was initially charged with a felony.

Pratte's probable cause statement said he made a comment about getting a gun and shooting people after supervisors were critical of him in a meeting.

A co-worker told investigators Pratte also made comments about shooting up his daughter's school prior to the incident at Walmart, documents said.

Court records said Pratte was sentenced to two years of unsupervised probation and was ordered not to go to Walmart.
