Man shot multiple times in downtown Columbia, one suspect arrested
COLUMBIA Mo. (KMIZ)
UPDATE: 9:56 a.m.
Columbia PD sent a press release Saturday morning confirming one suspect involved in the shooting incident downtown has been arrested.
Chad Thomas, 30 of Columbia was taken into custody after witnesses were able to describe the vehicle involved.
While on scene officers located several shell casings in the area as well as collected witness statements.
That vehicle, a white four door sedan, was involved in a pursuit after officers located the sedan.
The chase went across east Columbia and ended in the 4400 block of Santa Barbara Drive.
Boone County Sheriff's Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted in that chase. Thomas, is currently in custody with charges pending.

One person is in the hospital after being shot multiple times in downtown Columbia early Saturday morning.
According to a spokesperson for the Columbia Police Department, the shooting took place around 1 a.m. near Broadway Street and Tenth Street.
Three people were detained but officers are still searching for one suspect who fled the scene.
Officials said the victim was conscious and breathing when he was transported to University Hospital.
One man on the scene who said he witnessed the shooting said he heard four gunshots before running for safety
"Right as it happened I heard about four shots and I ran," Richard Washington-Bey said. "The guy just shot, he shot at the other guy right in front of the police. It was like he wanted to go to jail."
A CPD spokesperson said officers chased the suspect first by car into the county outside of Columbia.
Somewhere in the county officials said the suspect jumped out of the car and continued the chase by foot.
Officers are conducting a "thorough investigation" in that area of the county for the suspect.
No other injuries were reported.
