Fulton Public Schools gears up for first day of school

FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

Students at Fulton Public Schools are getting ready for the first day of the 2020-21 school year Wednesday.

Families had the option to send their students to class in-person or participate online.

During a live interview on ABC 17 News on Aug. 14, superintendent Ty Crain said roughly 300 students will participate in virtual learning which has helped the district keep class sizes smaller.

To help with social distancing, Fulton Public Schools said classroom furniture will be spread out as much as possible and clear, plastic dividers will be put up where social distancing isn't possible.

Crain also said there will be extra cleaning measures in place and hand sanitizer stations across the district's buildings. Custodial staff will also use disinfectant foggers in the buildings each night.
