Tracking a warm end to the week
FRIDAY AFTERNOON: It’s looking like another pretty dry afternoon around Mid-Missouri. Can’t completely rule out a rogue shower or storm near I-44 but that system looks too far away to be able to pull that off. Highs will get back into the upper 80’s, feeling like the low to mid 90’s with the muggy conditions.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear skies will stick around again overnight, allowing us to cool off to near 70.
EXTENDED: A relatively weak frontal boundary will move our direction Saturday. It will carry some storms with it through Iowa in the early morning hours, but those look to fizzle before making it here. As that front moves through, we could see some redevelopment throughout the day. The current thinking is that it will struggle to do so, although we will be plenty unstable to get storms. It will at least deliver some cooler air for much of the next week ahead. Northwesterly flow behind the front will help reinforce the cool, dry airmass. Highs will still make it into the middle 80’s Sunday, down to the low 80’s for the rest of the week.
