City Council considering special election on roll carts
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Columbia City Council is set to talk about holding a special election on roll carts at its meeting Monday night.
At its July 20 meeting, the council asked the city law department to draft an ordinance repealing a ban on the use of the carts for trash and recycling pickup.
The move came after the Solid Waste Utility had to pause curbside recycling pickup indefinitely because of staffing shortages.
The city council will discuss holding a special election on Nov. 3 asking voters if the order banning roll carts should be repealed.
The city council meeting is set for 7 p.m. Monday at City Hall.
