Columbia officials to talk post COVID-19 housing security, resources
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Officials with the City of Columbia are set to hold a post COVID-19 housing security presentation Thursday.
In a news release, the city said Boone County saw 11,773 unemployment claims related to the virus leaving many city and county residents facing housing instability. Evictions were halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that moratorium expires Saturday.
Mid-Missouri Legal Services, the City of Columbia Housing Programs Division and other local groups will highlight tenant and homeowner rights along with available resources to help with rent, mortgage and utility bills during the presentation.
The presentation is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday via Zoom.
