Tracking the end of showers and storms this morning

dryinh

THURSDAY: Showers and storms will move through quickly this morning. By this afternoon sunshine looks to return with highs pushing into the middle 80's with a heat index near 90.

TONIGHT: Staying quiet under partly cloudy skies. Overnight lows fall back into the upper 60's.

EXTENDED: This boundary system will be in the area tomorrow, but will be fairly weak. There's a chance there's just enough to get a storm or two going Friday afternoon, but most of us will stay dry. Temperatures will be toasty again with a return to the upper 80's, pushing the heat index into the mid to upper 90's. We'll stay dry into the weekend with some fairly similar weather on tap each day. Afternoon temperatures will stretch into the upper 80's to near 90 again. More of the same into Monday, with some better chances at rain by Tuesday as what's left of Tropical Storm Cristobal makes a push up the Mississippi River.
