Columbia volunteers to provide free lunches at city park

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia/Boone County health department and city volunteers are scheduled to hand out free lunches at Douglass Park starting Wednesday through the end of July.

Lunches will be available Monday-Friday between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., the department said in a news release Wednesday.

Changes have been made to the annual program. Children who receive lunches will not be required to eat in the park, the release said. Additionally, hot meals will be served on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the program.

Volunteers come from Columbia's Volunteer Action Center.
