Minor damage reported after brief tornado touchdown in Chariton County

Scattered thunderstorms brought heavy rain and flash flooding to parts of Mid-Missouri on Monday night, along with a brief tornado in northern Chariton County.

Minor structural damage was found near Mendon at the intersection of Mike Rd. and Vernon Kennedy Avenue.

There have been no reports of injuries at this time.

ABC 17 Stormtrack radar caught a weak rotational couplet near Mendon at around 6:06 PM and it quickly diminished in the minutes following.
