Bitter wind chills make Friday morning frigid

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cold. Lows in the upper teens and low 20s.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and chilly, highs in the upper 30s and low 40s.

EXTENDED: Wind up from the southwest as colder air retreats briefly north, giving us highs back near our seasonal average in the mid-upper 50s under mainly sunny skies. By Sunday night, our next strong cold front approaches from the north, bringing MUCH colder air for Monday. This front could also bring some wintry precipitation with it in the form of snow flurries or showers, but any accumulation is unclear at this time as the system has yet to develop. Temperatures Monday and Tuesday will be in the teens at night, and low 30s during the day. Wind chills on Monday and Tuesday nights will be in the single digits, likely just above zero. Temperatures will remain below average in the 40s for the rest of the week beyond Wednesday.
