Woman pleads guilty in Columbia killing
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
One of seven people charged with murder in what investigators said was a drug deal turned bad pleaded guilty to a drug charge Monday.
Mackenzie Cox pleaded guilty to distributing marijuana before Judge Jeff Harris and was sentenced to five years in prison in connection with the August 2018 shooting of Randall King on Sylvan Lane in Columbia.
Cox allegedly drove two other people to the Sylvan Lane address where a methamphetamine deal had been arranged. Columbia police say one of the seven people suspected in the shooting killed King when a scuffle broke out during the drug deal. However, it's unclear who fired at him.
Several suspects have pleaded guilty to lesser charges. One suspect, Richard Nole, admitted to second-degree murder and armed criminal action and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
