VIDEO: Boone County commissioner on stay-at-home order, business survey

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County Commissioner Fred Parry appeared live on ABC 17 News at 5 on Thursday to discuss the county's new COVID-19 stay-at-home order and a survey he conducted of local businesses.

The county health director on Thursday announced a new stay-at-home order that will take effect Friday. The new order will allow some non-essential businesses to start sales again.

Parry also discussed a survey he took of about 200 businesses to gauge the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the local economy. Most of the respondents said their businesses will survive if restrictions lift soon.

Most of those who responded said their businesses are considered essential and have remained open.
