Big time temperature swings on the way

THIS AFTERNOON: Rain showers have drifted east. We'll be in and out of the clouds through the evening hours. A few sprinkles can't be ruled out. Enjoy the comfortable temperatures. That will change tonight.

TONIGHT: A southern stream of moisture will bring rain chances to southern portions of mid-Missouri overnight. Temperatures will be falling as a cold front arrives. We're also tracking some pretty gusty winds as well. As we get closer to sunrise, any left over rain showers could changes to a few wind-blown snowflakes as you're headed out the door. Just be ready for a much different feel into tomorrow morning. No snow impacts are expected at this time.

EXTENDED: Thursday will be cold, but sunny. Temperatures hover in the mid to upper 30s. Friday is more of the same, maybe a touch warmer. We look to recover this weekend, temperatures warm into the 50s Saturday, and potentially Sunday. However, an even stronger arctic front will plunge south next week. That will bring some big-time cold weather to our area where highs will struggle to get out of the 20s, with night time lows hovering in the mid teens.
