Jefferson City emergency crews put out home fire

Jefferson City Fire Department responded to a house fire shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities said the home in the 200 block of Benton Street was fully engulfed when they arrived at the scene. Fire crews managed to control the fire in less than an hour.

According to officials, the house is vacant. No one suffered injuries in the blaze.

One chief officer, 11 firefighters, Jefferson City police and two Cole County emergency medical services workers responded to the fire.
