Tracking showers and storms over Easter weekend

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds, scattered showers possible late. Lows in the low 40s.

TOMORROW: Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms early, dry time in the afternoon before the next rounds arrives late Saturday night. Highs in the low 60s.

EXTENDED: A strong low pressure system is expected to move across Mid-Missouri on Sunday, bringing temperatures into the mid-upper 60s with scattered showers and storms in the morning, followed by a brief break in the afternoon. By late afternoon, a cold front begins to cut across the region, bringing showers and thunderstorms that could give us about 1" of rain, and potentially isolated damaging winds toward early Sunday evening. Severe weather chances are somewhat marginal, but not out of the question late Sunday afternoon into the evening. As the front moves east, much colder air starts to spill in. Any lingering precipitation could change over to snow late Sunday night, but no accumulation is expected. Next week starts off much colder with temperatures in the low 30s each night and highs in the 40s and low 50s.
