Showers moving in this morning

RAIN CHANCES
ABC 17 News

WEDNESDAY: Showers are pushing into our southern counties this morning. They look to have the best shot at picking up a scattered shower throughout the day, with some of them spilling up toward I-70 toward the lunch hour. North of the interstate, we'll have a better shot at making a run toward 60 for a high where we can stay out of the cloud cover longer but the rest of us will be in the middle to upper 50s this afternoon.

TONIGHT: A better shot at more widespread rain moves in after dark with the I-44 corridor likely to see the heaviest of the rain. Some of it will again spill up north toward the I-70 corridor with cold air rushing in at the same time. We could change over to some snowflakes by the morning, but no accumulations or problems are expected.

EXTENDED: What leftover snow/rain showers will move out by the afternoon with sunshine possible but temperatures will be stuck in the upper 30s Thursday and again on Friday. Things improve briefly on Saturday with highs pushing back into the low 50s but another cold front will move through Sunday night bringing our latest cold punch just in time to start next work week. There is a slight chance we pick up some rain/snow showers Sunday with the front but is slim at this point—we'll be tracking that going forward.
