COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department said it was investigating a shots-fired incident in northwest Columbia Sunday morning.

In a Facebook post from the department, people were asked to avoid the 1000 block of Claudell Lane.

An ABC 17 News reporter arrived on scene around 10:20 a.m. and saw at least four Columbia police cruisers parked near two regular vehicles on West Worley Street, near Claudell Lane. The police presence was primarily focused between Spencer Avenue and West Middle School.

Movement could be seen in the backseat of each of the four police vehicles.
