20-year-old man charged with sexual misconduct involving minor

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 20-year-old man has been charged with child sex crimes in Pettis County.

Roman Ryan, of Branson, was charged on Monday with possessing child sex abuse material and two counts of sexual misconduct involving someone younger than 15 years old. A warrant was issued on Saturday and a $25,000 bond was set.

An arraignment was held on Monday and another hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The probable cause statement says the mother of a child who knew the victim reported a “potential relationship” between Ryan and the victim to deputies. Ryan allegedly was at that woman’s house with the victim and the woman took his phone and found nude images and videos, the statement says.

Law enforcement determined Ryan and the victim were exchanging images and videos, the statement says. Ryan allegedly admitted to knowing the victim’s age and sending and receiving illicit images and video, the statement says.
