Tracking storms with heavy rain moving in late tonight

TONIGHT: Warm with storms arriving late. Some storms may produce heavy rain and strong wind gusts. Lows in the upper 60s.

TOMORROW: Rain and storms likely early, becoming more scattered by afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking storm development to our north and west over the next few hours that will move into Mid-Missouri likely after sunset from northwest to southeast. Storms could feature some isolated strong wind gusts and heavy rain, with widespread rain possible through mid-late morning. We'll see cloudier skies and spotty to scattered showers before the next round of storms late Wednesday into Thursday. A few storms could be strong across southern Missouri including the Lake of the Ozarks tomorrow along and ahead of the front before it begins lifting back north. A final push of scattered storms comes through early Thursday before we clear out and lows fall into the upper 40s on Friday morning. Rain amounts range from about 1-3", with locally higher amounts across western Missouri where a Flood Watch is in effect from late tonight through Thursday evening. Friday afternoon is looking much cooler with highs in the upper 50s to around 60. We could see some patchy frost on Saturday morning as winds die down under clear skies, allowing temperatures to drop into the upper 30s. The weekend looks fantastic with highs in the lower to mid-60s on Saturday and low 70s on Sunday. Next week is looking gradually warmer, with highs getting close to 80 again by mid-week.
