Tracking warmth through the weekend before mid-week rain chances

TODAY: I'm tracking plenty of sunshine and southerly winds this afternoon, blowing at 8-12 mph, gusting up to 15 mph. This combination will lead to summer-like heat, with temperatures topping out in the upper 80s and low 90s across Mid-Missouri.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking mostly clear conditions through the night. Temperatures will drop back into the low 60s as southerly winds blowing at 5-10 mph continue overnight.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking a cloudier, cooler day Saturday due to the remnants of Hurricane Isaias, though no rainfall is expected this weekend. Temperatures will top out in the mid-80s Saturday and Sunday afternoon, even as sunshine returns by Sunday morning. Monday will be the hottest day in the next 7 days as the low 90s return, currently forecast to be just a couple of degrees shy of another daily high-temperature record. Tuesday will still be warm and dry in the mid-80s, but by Wednesday and Thursday, better rain chances finally enter Mid-Missouri. After these rain chances exit Thursday night, a much cooler, more fall-like forecast is expected.
