Tracking a warm up late week, hot pattern into early next week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and mild with lows in the upper 50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny with highs in the lower 80s.

EXTENDED: Lows fall to the upper 50s to around 60 tonight, and we'll be just slightly cooler in the low to mid-80s tomorrow as a weak disturbances slides by overhead. We may see a few passing clouds, but rain isn't expected. We'll begin warming quite a bit as a warm front moves in between Friday and Saturday under upper high pressure, sending highs into the upper 80s. We could see some mid-high level cloud cover over the weekend due to the remnants of Tropical Storm Isaias shooting northeast into the Ohio Valley, but rain chances from this look to stay across southeast Missouri and farther east. We'll have a toasty start to next week with upper high pressure lingering, with highs approaching 90 degrees on Monday. We'll be flirting with record highs from Friday through Monday as records are in the lower 90s. A stronger system will pull a front through the area mid-week, bringing a chance at measurable rain between late Tuesday and Wednesday, with around an inch possible. We'll begin cooling back into the upper 70s toward late week, which is still above average for this time in October.
