Tracking scattered showers tonight, with a wet week to follow

TONIGHT: Widespread scattered showers look to return late tonight, starting light but becoming heavier as the night goes on. Overnight lows will drop to the lower 60s.

TOMORROW: Expect showers to continue overnight into tomorrow morning, with isolated spots of heavier rainfall, particularly to the north of I-70. Precipitation will look to taper as we work into the afternoon, with some lingering drops possible throughout the day, though there will be a good amount of dry time. Temps will return to the mid 70s among mostly cloudy skies.

EXTENDED: With the exception of Monday, it looks to be a wet week across mid-Missouri. Monday afternoon looks dry with partly cloudy skies, and temperatures increasing slightly towards the upper 70s. Tuesday may even jump into the low 80s, with dry weather to start, but rain chances increase into the evening. There is some disagreement on the timing of our next active weather pattern, but the best consensus looks to be late Tuesday into early Wednesday. Wednesday afternoon will carry showers and thunderstorms, which look to continue through Friday. There will be some breaks from the rainfall in this window, but at least one round, if not multiple rounds of showers per day can be expected through the end of the week. Our last major rainfall looks to impact early Saturday, which could affect Homecoming parade plans if chances hold, but skies should clear before kickoff that afternoon. Temps throughout the week will fluctuate slightly, with a cooldown starting Wednesday, dropping highs from the lower 80s on Tuesday back into the mid 70s by the weekend.
