Tracking continued clouds overnight, weekend rain

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 50s to around 60.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy and cool with highs in the lower 70s. Sprinkles possible by early evening.

EXTENDED: A similar cloudy setup is expected for tomorrow, but in areas where we get some breaks in the clouds we could end up making it to the mid-70s. Given the pattern we have been seeing with clouds filtering in, temperatures are likely to max out between the upper 60s and low 70s with warmer temperatures where we have some breaks in the clouds.We'll see a few light spotty showers or sprinkles on Friday night, perhaps making for a damp Sportszone Football Friday. Showers increase in coverage a bit on Saturday, but amounts will be light through Sunday morning with rain totals around 0.25" or so. We'll see some clearing later on Sunday, perhaps sending temperatures into the mid-upper 70s if skies clear enough. Monday looks like the clearest day heading into next week and potentially the warmest with high temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s. We'll see an approaching cold front with a more potent low pressure system crossing the Plains by early/mid-week with rain possible between Tuesday and Wednesday, if not into Thursday. The speed of the front is still unclear, and that will determine precipitation totals and temperatures toward mid-late week. Rain totals look to be in the 2" range.
