Tracking a cool night, muted sunshine on Thursday

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and cool with lows in the lower 50s.

TOMORROW: Partly to mostly cloudy with highs in the mid-upper 70s.

EXTENDED: Cloud cover is somewhat stubborn to exit again tonight, but we'll still manage to drop back into the low to mid-50s by daybreak. Tomorrow looks similar sky coverage wise, but a touch warmer was highs get into the mid-upper 70s. By Friday, winds will begin shifting back south, bringing highs back into the upper 70s with more clouds ahead of an upper wave that will bring showers on Saturday. Expect cloudy skies on Friday night for high school football games with light showers possible by Saturday morning into the afternoon. There may be some embedded rumbles of thunder between the afternoon and evening, but severe weather isn't expected. We could have a few lingering light showers on Sunday with warmer temperatures in the upper 70s. Next week starts off warmer with highs reaching the lower 80s on Monday and Tuesday, but a stronger cold front will bring widespread rain on Tuesday into Wednesday with about 1-2" possible. We'll cool back to near normal temperatures by Wednesday as rain begins to exit east.
