Tracking a quiet and comfortable week before slim weekend rain chances

TODAY: Wednesday is dry and mild, with temperatures that are very seasonal. We expect highs in the 70s, right in line with what is considered average for September 23rd.

TONIGHT: Temperatures should have no problem cooling back into the low 50s, close to the 40s for some in the northeast.

EXTENDED: Partly cloudy skies and highs in the 70s will make for a near repeat of today on Thursday. Rain chances are nearing the west as upper-level troughing starts to inch closer. This likely just increases our clouds on Friday, but rain chances start to dot the forecast over the weekend. Timing is uncertain, but rain chances are best Saturday evening and Sunday morning. High temperatures remain forecast in the 70s through Saturday, but 80s become more likely Sunday through Tuesday.
