Tracking a hot game day before relief from the heat finally arrives

TODAY: I'm tracking a warm start to the morning as temperatures begin in the low to mid 70s, with sunshine quickly warming up Mid-Missouri after sunrise. By the afternoon, expect a mix of clouds and sunshine as temperatures top out in the mid-90s, potentially feeling closer to 100-105, with winds out of the southwest at 8-12 mph, gusting up to 20 mph.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking dry conditions through game time, with any chances for showers and storms (some of which could briefly produce 60 mph winds and 1 inch hail) holding off until closer to midnight. Isolated to scattered storm chances will continue overnight as temperatures drop into the low 70s and winds shift into the north at 5-10 mph.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking another wave of slightly more widespread showers and storms by Sunday afternoon and evening as a stronger cold front moves through the area. This will keep temperatures in the upper 80s by Sunday afternoon and, after bringing rain totals up to 1 inch or more for some, it will lead to temperatures only topping out in the low to mid 70s by Monday afternoon as rain slowly exits. This will lead to a cooler, drier rest of next week, with mornings in the 50s and afternoons in the 70s.
