Tracking triple-digit heat through the end of the week

TONIGHT: Temperatures remain in the low 90s through sunset, then gradually fall into the 80s. Lows in the mid-70s.

TOMORROW: Sunny and hot, with a heat index near 100 degrees. Winds from the southwest will be steady at 5 to 10 mph.

EXTENDED: A Heat Advisory remains in effect areawide through Saturday for a heat index up to 100 degrees each afternoon. A weak cold front will finally move through sometime this weekend, bringing a little relief from the heat by Sunday, though highs remain in the 90s. Rain chances have increased slightly late Sunday, but widespread soaking rain is not expected. Highs remain in the upper 80s to near 90 through at least the first half of next week.
