Tracking a heat wave of a week

TODAY: Tuesday is another hot and sunny day. Temperatures are expected to be very similar to Monday, with highs in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees. Heat indexes are expected in the low triple digits at most. Clear skies are present this morning, but a few cumulus clouds will develop this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Heat continues into the evening, with 90s forecast through sunset, and 80s through midnight. We should start Wednesday in the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: Clear mornings, with afternoon cumulus, are forecast each day through Saturday, with daily highs expected in the mid-to-upper 90s. Each day through Friday, we'll have a chance for heat indexes in the 100-105 degree range. Saturday is likely just as hot, but confidence is lower as the chance for a break in the heat grows by the weekend. This won't be a big break from the heat, but our heat index may slip below 100 on Sunday. This likely won't bring much chance of rain, but cloud cover may increase.
