Tracking a warmer Tuesday with storms returning tomorrow night

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and mild with lows in the mid-upper 60s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the upper 80s.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking a weak disturbance that has been bringing scattered clouds and a few sprinkles to our north, but not much of that makes it to the ground heading into Tuesday. Winds will slightly shift tomorrow, allowing temperatures to rise back into the mid-upper 80s as upper high pressure tries to scoot east. A weak cold front arrives from the north between late tomorrow night and Wednesday, bringing a meager chance at showers and storms, adding up to less than 0.25" of rainfall. No severe weather is expected, but we could have thunderstorms overnight Tuesday. We'll warm into the upper 80s on Wednesday, with a brief decrease in dew points on Thursday and Friday, lending to near average conditions for late August. The weekend is trending hotter as high pressure presses east and north, pushing temperatures into the upper 80s to around 90 by the weekend with the main storm track to our north. Rain chances are looking slim over the weekend, but any shift south in the jet stream may introduce a few storms to the forecast. Sunday sets off a hot streak, with highs in the low 90s and the heat index increasing into the upper 90s to around 100.
