Tracking a mild & quiet week

TODAY: Monday starts the week on a dry note. Temperatures and dew points are almost reminiscent of early fall as students in some districts head back to class today. Temperatures and dew points are being recorded in the east this morning. Patchy fog is possible in low-lying areas. A thin band of light rain showers is present early this morning from Marshall to Versailles and drifting east, but is forecast to dry up after sunrise. After a cool and crisp start to the day, temperatures will climb to near 80 under partly cloudy and mostly dry skies today.

TONIGHT: Mostly dry conditions are forecast under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Low-level winds will again give some chance for showers after midnight through around 7-8 a.m. on Tuesday.

EXTENDED: Temperatures are starting in the 60s on Tuesday and will climb to the mid-80s by the afternoon, under mostly sunny skies. At most, some cirrus may create an increasingly gray sky by the afternoon. A weak cold front is forecast to arrive Wednesday morning. Some showers ahead of this are possible Tuesday night, with some isolated thunderstorms along it possible on Wednesday afternoon. Otherwise, most of the week ahead is dry and mild, with highs in the mid-80s Tuesday through Friday, ahead of a warm-up to near 90 degrees over the weekend.
