Man seriously hurt in Pettis County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 69-year-old Smithton man was seriously hurt after a crash in Pettis County at 10:45 a.m. Thursday.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the crash involved three vehicles. A 2016 RAM 1500, driven by an 89-year-old Otterville man; a 2008 Toyota Corolla, driven by the 69-year-old Smithton man and a 2023 Honda Ridgeline, driven by a 67-year-old man from Bonner Springs, KS.

The crash happened on Highway 50 at Arator Road.

The report states the Toyota was stopped to make a left turn when the RAM struck the back of the car. Both vehicles went off the road. The Honda was hit by debris from the crash.

The 69-year-old was taken to University Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. The 89-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bothwell Regional by ambulance.

The 67-year-old was not hurt.

The report states the Toyota and RAM were totaled, while the Honda had minor damage.
