Tracking more extreme heat, pop-up showers throughout the week

TODAY: An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day is in effect as more heat and humidity is expected today, among some scattered pop-up showers. While the feels-like is expected to be slightly cooler than tomorrow, heat indexes are still expected to be well into the triple digits.

TONIGHT: Lingering showers could stick around into the evening, though most will be dry tonight. Expect conditions to remain muggy tonight with lows dropping to the mid 70s.

EXTENDED: An Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect until Wednesday evening at 8 pm as heat indexes approach 110 degrees both tomorrow and Wednesday. Pop-up chances will remain in the forecast, with storm chances increasing when temperatures finally cool. As a cold front works in Wednesday evening, we'll see temps dropping towards the mid 80s, and a chance for extended showers and storms Thursday and Friday, steadily dropping towards the weekend. Most should see dryness by Saturday afternoon, but a stray shower can't be ruled out early Sunday.
