Tracking scattered showers and storms through the rest of the week

TODAY: Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely on Wednesday. Spot showers are possible this morning, but widespread showers are unlikely until late morning and early afternoon. Storms will be possible by mid-afternoon as instability grows, but strong storms are unlikely. Damaging winds will be possible in the strongest storms, but the threat is low and isolated. Humidity increases today, with dew points expected in the 70s. Thanks to scattered rain, we may remain slightly cooler than on Tuesday. Highs are forecast in the upper 80s.

TONIGHT: Our chance for severe storms remains low overnight, if it doesn't end at sunset. Our chance of storms remains high overnight, though, as heavy rain and lightning are scattered overnight. A flood watch is in place from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning. An inch to two inches of rain is possible overnight.

EXTENDED: Scattered rain and thunderstorms will likely come to an end with time on Thursday morning, leaving much of the midday and afternoon dry. More rain is possible Thursday night into Friday, but exact timing and placement are uncertain. The overall expectation is for the axis of better rain chances to shift south over time from Thursday into Friday. This should bring better rain chances to the south by Friday night, leaving drier weather into the weekend.
