Tracking a drizzly and cool night tonight, warmer temps to come tomorrow

TONIGHT: A light drizzle will continue this evening with the potential for some isolated areas of heavier rainfall. Temperatures remain unseasonably cool, as a record low high temperature for August 1st of just 71 degrees was tied today. Winds will steadily die down as we get deeper into the night, but gusts of up to 20 mph are still possible for the next few hours. Overnight temps drop back into the mid 60s.

TOMORROW: A big warmup is in store tomorrow as sunshine returns to mid-Missouri. Expect temperatures to jump back into the lower 80s, with clouds clearing through the early morning hours leaving mostly sunny skies.

EXTENDED: Temperatures get back towards a seasonal average as the week progresses, sitting in the mid to upper 80s into the weekend. High pressure will help to keep things calm and dry through Wednesday and also provides plenty of sunshine. A slow moving cold front makes its way into the region Wednesday night, which increases rain chances into Friday. Thursday looks to be the best chance for prolonged showers, and early Friday morning also poses a chance for some heavier rainfall. That said, there will also be a good amount of dry time in this period. A warm front will follow up Friday afternoon, bringing temps back into the lower 90s by next weekend.
