Tracking few storms this week and a hot weekend

TODAY: Wednesday is another mild and dry day for most, with partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 80s. Isolated storms are expected on Wednesday afternoon, south of Highway 50. No severe weather is forecast, but lightning and thunder will be possible.

TONIGHT: Storms and clouds will collapse with sunset, leaving us mostly clear overnight. Temperatures fall into the upper 70s just before midnight, and into the 60s and 70s by sunrise.

EXTENDED: Thursday is very similar to Wednesday, but storm chances are slightly higher as moisture stretches north through the region. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop on Thursday afternoon. Again, no severe weather is expected. Some storm chances will linger on Friday in a similar fashion, but drier weather is expected Saturday and Sunday. Heat becomes the biggest impact as highs climb from near 90 degrees on Friday, to low-to-mid 90s Saturday through Monday alongside sunny skies. Dewpoints are low enough that our heat indexes should max out around 100 in this window.
